Purpose:
The Student Affairs Officer, reporting to the Faculty Executive Officer, is
accountable for all aspects of human resources, student affairs
support, and enrolment reporting within the Faculty of Graduate Studies.
The Manager is also responsible for developing strategies and plans
related to all aspects of graduate student services. The Student Affairs
Officer collaborates with the Graduate Programs and their anchor
Faculties in providing support to graduate students through their
programs. |

Education:
University degree required. Some post-secondary education in
business, finance or human resources would be an asset. |
|
Experience:
At least 6 years of progressively responsible managerial experience
in student services, admissions, registration, supervision, student
fees and knowledge of faculty regulations and policies. Experience
in working in an environment of constant change and using on-line
management information systems and databases. In addition, the
incumbent must keep-up to date with changes as they pertain to
graduate studies records, changing international education systems
and changes to standardized testing. |

Skills:
Demonstrated working knowledge of human resources management
practices; excellent organizational and management skills; excellent
oral and written communication with proven report writing skills;
demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a team;
excellent interpersonal skills; proven ability to exercise initiative and
good judgment; strong analytical and numerical skills; ability to multi-
task; advanced knowledge of Word, Excel, Access, and PowerPoint. |
