Purpose:

Osgoode Professional Development (OPD) is a revenue-producing unit which operates in a highly competitive market. Its mandate is to produce a net contribution. This position, along with others at OPD, has annual revenue and growth targets which must be met for satisfactory job performance.
Reporting to the Assistant Dean/Executive Director, OPD, the Associate Director, Open Enrollment CLE Programs, will manage a large and important part of OPD's business. S/he will provide strategic planning, and oversight of quality development and execution, of all open enrollment programs delivered live or online by OPD, including seminars, webinars, conferences, and certificates. Programs are delivered live in Toronto and in other locations in Canada and outside of Canada. This position is accountable for a significant portion of OPD's revenues.
 
Education:
Undergraduate university degree together with an LLB/JD from a Canadian law school, along with admission to the Bar in a Canadian Province .Post graduate certificate, diploma, or Master degree in adult education is desirable.
 
Experience:
Minimum 5 years' legal practice experience combined with a minimum 5 years CLE/professional adult education program development experience. 3 years' leadership and staff management experience. Experience in a direct marketing environment and understanding of adult education is highly preferred.
 
Skills:
Ability to identify legal issues in order to develop relevant timely program content; ability to manage and coach content creators to maximize productivity and quality within tight time frames; knowledge of program development, direct marketing and copywriting skills; highly developed organizational and project management skills; people management skills; excellent relationship management; strong motivational, persuasion, problem-solving and conflict resolution skills.

Superior oral and written communication skills including public speaking; relationship management; skill in developing and implementing policies, programs and procedures; excellent planning and analytic skills; critical thinking skills required for program development and implementation; ability to use judgment and make fair, sound decisions, based on existing policies and procedures is key. Ability to maintain confidentiality. Demonstrated ability to be flexible and adaptable, with a commitment to excellence, innovation, effective change management, and proven ability to achieve results.
