Duration: Continuing Part-Time - Hours a week: 0-24
Hours: Part Time Weekends (0-24hours/wk) Shifts scheduled between the hours of 6:00 a.m - 2:00 a.m.
 
Purpose:
To operate a large and small passenger bus on and off campus.
 
Knowledge:
Must hold valid Class “C” license and Air Brakes Certificate (“Z” endorsement). Must have a good driving record and ability to drive vehicles in a safe manner.
 
Experience:
A minimum of two years’ recent experience driving large and small passenger vehicles is required.
 
Skills:
Must have demonstrated ability to speak, read, write and comprehend English as the incumbent receives and conveys messages by two-way radios in the vehicles. Customer service experience preferred.
 
Additional Notes :
Basic French language skills are desirable. Successful candidates will be required to provide a recent Driver’s Abstract – Statement of Driving Record obtained from the Ministry of Transportation (not older than 30 days old). As well, successful candidates must satisfactorily complete the following University training sessions: Defensive Driving, First Aid and CPR, W.H.M.I.S., Customer Service and Sensitivity/Human Relations Training. The successful applicant for this position shall be required to work shifts as assigned. Any offer of employment is conditional upon completion and submission of a satisfactory criminal background check. York University may use the results of the criminal background check to determine suitability of the candidate.
