Purpose:

PLEASE NOTE: This position is located at the Glendon campus and requires the ability to be bilingual in English and French.

The Development Coordinator is responsible to the Director for the coordination of prospect activity, the stewardship and cultivation events as well as the coordination of contents of the Alumni and Giving web sites within the Office of Advancement at Glendon.
 
Education:
A university education is required plus a combination of specialized training or equivalent experience in fundraising.
 
Experience:
A demonstrated ability or proven track record in major gifts and/or planned giving. Two or more years of professional fundraising or related experience, preferably in an educational setting. A commitment to ongoing professional development including involvement in CASE, CCAE or AFP.
 
Skills:
Word processing skills required (Word Perfect, Word). Excellent spreadsheet (Excel); advanced presentation packages' knowledge (PowerPoint); PhotoShop, People Soft or related systems; database management; working well within a computerized environment. DEMONSTRATED SKILL/ABILITY IN THE FOLLOWING AREAS: Excellent oral and written communication skills in English; Intermediate Knowledge of French language, excellent attention to detail; excellent organizational skills; ability to work fast-paced, deadline-based environment which requires reasonable flexibility in schedules and tasks; proofreading; action points/note-taking skills; providing accurate and concise information; answering enquiries; exercising tact and diplomacy; exercising full discretion in dealing with confidential matters; working well under pressure of tight deadlines and high volume; dealing courteously and effectively with people; pleasant telephone manner; ability to meet deadlines; working well within a team environment; and a commitment to working with the various constituencies served by the Advancement Office and Glendon College of York University. Bilingual Modules I (Intermediary), II, III, IV (Intermediary).
