Purpose:

Support the university's Records and Information Management (RIM) program and assist with administration of the university's Access to Information and Privacy (FIPPA) responsibilities.
 
Knowledge:
Knowledge of university and industry practices & policies for records management, and Freedom of Information and Privacy Protection legislation and policies/procedures. Knowledge of the structure, organization and governance of the university, faculties, colleges and other divisions. Knowledge of other government/ other Canadian university policies & procedures re. RIM and FIPPA. Knowledge of the FIPPA legislation, knowledge of legal requirements for records retention (e.g. financial records). Current knowledge of evolving policy and practice in RIM and information & privacy issues.
 
Education:
Bachelors's degree required. Advanced degree in a related field (e.g. Information Studies, Records & Information Management) an asset. RM Certificate an asset.
 
Experience:
Minimum of 2 to 3 years of relevant work experience (e.g. Government; Public Institution; Records & Information management).
 
Skills:
Excellent written and verbal communication skills with internal and external contacts. Ability to deal effectively with clients at all levels of the university, including insistent clients. Discretion, diplomacy and tact. Ability to concurrently plan, organize and prioritize a number of urgent, sensitive issues or tasks. Proven ability to comply with internal and legislated deadlines.
