Purpose:
Provides support in the coordination of research projects at ISR for both external clients of ISR and internal University clients (such as faculty members and senior University administrators). Understands client needs, matches clients’ needs to procedures, develops a research project plan and reach agreement on the methodology with clients, and implements procedures to insure the research is completed as required.
 
Education:
Master's degree in the field of social sciences such as sociology, geography, economics or psychology. Completion of at least one research design or statistics course at the graduate level.
 
Experience:
Two years of employment, at least one full year with a single employer, in an organization where the conduct of applied social science research or survey research was paramount to the position.
 
Skills:
Excellent written and oral communications. Ability to listen carefully and translate vague or theoretical ideas into concrete applications. Ability to work with others, with a wide range of skills, seniority. Ability to work independently or directly for a project manager. Facility with a word processing and spread sheet programs. Intermediate abilities in SPSS or Stata (includes chi-square, simple regressions models, etc.). Intermediate skills in qualitative software such as Nvivo.
Ability to explain research findings to novice readers in a clear, easy to follow a manner.
Reading comprehension of written materials in French required. Basic French language skills required (oral and written).
