Hiring Salary Range: $66,437 - $74,741. Annual salary will be prorated based on number of weeks worked in the year.
Maximum of Salary Range: $91,351
Duration: Permanent Full-Time
Hours: 9am to 5pm.
Sessional Start Date: August 1     Sessional End Date: May 31
 
Purpose:

PLEASE NOTE: This position requires bilingualism in English and French, and is located at Glendon College: 2275 Bayview Avenue, Toronto. This is also a sessional position that runs from August 1st to May 31st.

To provide a broad range of bilingual ( English, French) services to students with learning, mental health and physical, sensory, and medical disabilities to support their post-secondary experience.
 
Education:
MSW, MA or MEd in Counselling Psychology, OT or equivalent.
 
Experience:
A minimum of 3 years (full-time) related counselling, teacher/educator experience, preferably in a post-secondary educational setting with students with disabilities.
 
Skills:
Familiarity with disability related issues (e.g., legal, educational, financial) in a postsecondary educational environment. Familiarity with medical/ psychological reports and DSM diagnoses; Ability to develop academic accommodation plans based on knowledge of restrictions and limitations due to disabilities; Ability to plan and facilitate workshops and speak to large groups of people. Knowledge of the medical and mental health system and community resources. Familiarity with a variety of individual clinical counselling approaches; Excellent skills as a group facilitator. Good time management and organizational skills. Competent word-processing skills. Excellent verbal, written skills and interpersonal skills. Fluency in English and French. Effective negotiating and problem solving skills. Ability to handle difficult situations with maturity and high degree of professionalism. Ability to work effectively with others (e.g., colleagues, faculty, staff, students) that may have different perspectives. Sensitivity to issues of diversity. Ability to balance being part of a team, accepting supervision while also working autonomously in a variety of situations. Creativity and ability to initiate new programs and services. Demonstrated commitment to the values of creating student success: Care, Collaboration, Accountability, Respect, Innovation, Excellence and Inclusion.
