| Purpose: The Faculty of Graduate Studies (FGS) is dedicated to enhancing the academic and professional experiences of York's graduate students. This position reports to the Finance and Administrative Officer while providing support to the Administrative Assistant in the administration operating and student support budget lines in Graduate Studies. FGS is committed to financial accountability and this position supports the day-to-day monitoring of operating cost centres as well as supporting the processing of offer letters for the admission process. |

| Education: High school diploma with some community college courses in basic accounting or related business courses. |

| Experience: Minimum of 2 years of related experience in a post-secondary institution working in an administrative unit in support of financial and business operations, including administration of funding of graduate students. Experience in working with financial spreadsheets and databases required. Experience working in a student service area dealing with the public, explaining policies and procedures in a manner that is easily understood. Administrative experience in setting meetings and organizing a complex calendar. |

| Skills: Advanced Word, advanced Excel, intermediate Access; intermediate Powerpoint. Excellent communication, problem-solving and organizational skills. Attend accurately to detail, working effectively under pressure of high volume; work independently meeting deadlines and handling competing priorities; work accurately with figures to reconcile accounts. Exercise initiative and maintain confidentiality. Proven ability to exercise tact and diplomacy. |
