PLEASE NOTE THAT THIS POSITION REQUIRES BILINGUALISM IN ENGLISH AND FRENCH, AND IS LOCATED AT GLENDON COLLEGE: 2275 BAYVIEW AVENUE TORONTO.Under the direction of the Manager, the Welcome Centre Liaison supports day to day services of Glendon's on-campus Welcome Centre operations for prospective students and their families, teachers, guidance counsellors, and other support persons; for accurately disseminating general, detailed and at times complex information regarding admissions and admissions-related inquiries; and for delivering several key components of the on-campus recruitment program. The incumbent will actively identify, recommend, implement and deliver best practices in front-line customer service and student service to ensure outstanding service levels; will ensure orderly and efficient day-to-day operations; and will proactively position Glendon as a top university option in support of student recruitment, admissions and conversion activities. The incumbent will also be a resource to the student ambassador team.
College Diploma required.
Minimum 1-2 years of recent related experience (e.g. liaison, public relations, customer service, answering a high volume of detailed/complex enquiries, providing regulatory & detailed/complex information both verbally and in writing, student advising/counselling etc.) including dealing with the public in a customer or student service area, student recruitment, marketing, and making effective presentations, preferably in an educational environment. Previous interaction with secondary aged students, teachers and/or counsellors.
Demonstrated skills/abilities in the following areas: eliciting & providing accurate information; providing regulatory information and answering detailed & complex enquiries in a quick, efficient, clear and concise manner; dealing courteously and effectively with customers & co- workers; flexibility and performing as a team player; excellent interpersonal and public relations skills; excellent presentation skills; ability to market academic offerings; strong written communication skills; effective organizational skills; maintaining confidentiality; knowledge of postsecondary educational systems; accurate on-line data entry skills and knowledge of a large computerized record system; general advising & counselling skills so as to analyze, synthesize, evaluate and interpret information in order to formulate and present an appropriate response; exercising good judgement; attending accurately to detail and working effectively under pressure of high volume; exercising tact and diplomacy; sensitivity to race, ethnicity, religion, culture, disability, sexual and gender diversity; lifting and bending; Bilingual Modules I (advanced); III (intermediate); IV (advanced). MS Office (advanced).
