PLEASE NOTE: THIS IS A TEMPORARY CONTRACT. To provide secretarial, receptionist and clerical support for the Graduate Program Office in the Department of English.
High school graduation with secretarial training or equivalent.
2 year’s related experience including answering enquiries, secretarial and reception in a front-line academic environment.
Keyboarding 40-45 w.p.m., accuracy essential; knowledge of degree and Program requirements preferred; demonstrated skill/ability in the following areas: intermediate wordprocessing skills (MS Word); intermediate database skills (MS Access); basic spreadsheet skills (MS Excel); knowledge of on-line computerized records system (SIS); knowledge of electronic mail system (Lotus Notes); knowledge of web software (Contribute) preferred; effective oral communication skills to elicit and provide accurate information in a clear and concise manner; dealing courteously, tactfully and effectively with people; exercising initiative and good judgment; excellent organizational skills including ability to set priorities and meet deadlines; attending accurately to detail; minute-taking skills preferred; maintaining confidentiality; working effectively both independently and as a member of a team.
