York University Security Services continuously monitors weather conditions and the latest forecasts.
|At 9:00pm,Tuesday 11 March 2014 the University began to monitor the weather conditions. We are still maintaining a constant weather watch. The University is open. No decision to alter normal university operations has been taken. Should University Weather Emergency Procedures be adopted, this message will be updated immediately. For information about possible cancellation or postponement of a scheduled special event at the University, please telephone the Faculty, department or office responsible.|
A decision to declare a weather emergency shall normally be made:
- by 5:30 a.m., for suspension of daytime operations and cancellation/postponement of daytime classes, exams and activities (with locations/campuses affected);
- before 5:00 p.m., for suspension of evening operations and cancellation/postponement of evening classes, exams and activities (with locations/campus affected)
- by 9:00 p.m., for suspension of night-time operations (with locations/campuses affected)
Once the day’s operations, classes, exams and activities have commenced, a weather emergency may be declared at any time, should conditions necessitate it.
