The School of Kinesiology and Health Science, York University, invites applications for a professorial stream tenure-track appointment in Applied Cardiovascular Physiology at the Assistant Professor level, to commence July 1, 2020. Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.

A Ph.D. in Kinesiology, Physiology or a related field is required. Relevant post-doctoral training and prior experience in assessment of human cardiovascular function are expected. Candidates must show excellence or promise of excellence in teaching, scholarly research and publication and service.

Applicants should demonstrate, or show clear evidence of, a program of research and specialize in one or more of the following areas: the influence of physiological aging on the human cardiovascular system; achieving/maintaining cardiovascular health across the adult lifespan; exercise prescription as it applies to cardiovascular health. This individual will strategically complement our current core of vascular and applied exercise physiologists and will have the opportunity to develop non-clinical and/or clinical community-based research programs and multi-disciplinary interactions with researchers in the School of Kinesiology and Health Science, York U Centre for Aging (YU-CARE) and the Muscle Health Research Centre.

The successful candidate must be suitable for prompt appointment to the Faculty of Graduate Studies. The position will involve graduate teaching and supervision, as well as undergraduate teaching and service. Pedagogical innovation in high priority areas such as experiential education and technology enhanced learning is preferred.
