Professorial Stream Appointments

The School of Nursing, Faculty of Health, York University invites highly qualified candidates to apply for a professorial stream tenure-track appointment at the Associate or Full Professor level. The successful candidate will also be appointed as the Associate Director of the School of Nursing for an agreed term and possible renewal. The position will commence January 1, 2022. Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. All York University positions are subject to budgetary approval.

Candidates must (1) be registered in good standing or eligible for registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario; (2) have a baccalaureate degree in Nursing; (3) have a Master’s degree in Nursing or a related field (Nursing preferred), and (4) have a PhD in Nursing (preferred) or PhD equivalent (i.e. Ed.D) with a substantial record of professional experience in clinical practice and/or health care delivery research.

The candidate must demonstrate skills and experience as a collegial leader who can support and enable the School to implement several exciting advancements to our undergraduate programs, support quality teaching, and promote student success. They will also bring experience in interprofessional education, curriculum development and evaluation.

The successful candidate will be expected to engage in outstanding, innovative, and as appropriate, externally funded research at the highest level. Their research should focus on clinical practice and/or health care delivery for complex conditions.

Candidates must provide evidence of research excellence of a recognized international calibre as demonstrated in: the research statement; a record of publications (or forthcoming publications) with significant journals in the field; presentations at major conferences; awards and accolades; and strong recommendations from referees of high standing.

The position will involve graduate teaching and supervision, as well as undergraduate teaching and the successful candidate must be suitable for prompt appointment to the Faculty of Graduate Studies.

Evidence of excellence in teaching, curricular development/implementation will be provided through: the teaching statement; teaching accomplishments and pedagogical innovations (including in high priority areas such as experiential education and technology enhanced learning); teaching evaluations; and strong letters of reference.
